A Newborn Session at Magda Bright Photography
Thank you for considering me to create timeless, gorgeous images of your baby's first days. Newborn sessions are best carried out in the first 2-3 weeks of baby's life to capture their squishiness, their sleepy little yawns, the way they love to curl up, their tiny fingers and toes. Babies are little for such a short fleeting moment and as a new parent you are in a sleepless daze of feeding, changing, burping and getting to know this amazing new person. Join me in my cosy studio, sit back and relax whilst watching me work my magic and your baby being an adorable model during their very first photo session...
I take bookings from your 20 week scan and offer sessions at my cosy and relaxed studio in Cheam with free parking available. I only book 10 babies in each month to ensure I have space and flexibility for all my newborn customers and their parents. There is however a limited number of last minute sessions so if you are not booked in with me and baby is already here please do contact me and I will try my best to fit you in if I can.
Once you are booked in I will email you a session preparation sheet and a questionnaire to tailor your session to you and your baby, we could also have a phone consultation if you would like.
After your session you will be invited back to the studio in about three weeks to view your images which have been beautifully hand edited by me. There is a minimum spend on newborn sessions which is £349. This can be spent on a package or on individual products.
To secure a session I do require a £99 non refundable booking fee which comes off the total cost of your session. A payment for your selected package is due no later than 24 hours prior to your session. Not sure which package to get? I suggest purchasing the basic Tiny Tot package and you are welcome to upgrade to a higher package with more images included once your gallery is ready.

FAQ
1) When should I book my newborn photo session?
~ I take bookings from your 20 week scan onwards, once you have paid your booking fee I put your due date into my booking calendar. You let me know once baby arrives as soon as you can and we schedule in your session. Not everyone plans their session ahead so if your baby is already here and you would like to book in for some beautiful newborn images please do get in touch. I do have some last minute availability slots and if I can I will do my best to fit you in.
2) How long does the session take?
~ Newborn sessions take place in my studio in Cheam (Sutton) with comfy chairs, coffee, biscuits, free parking and they take between 2-4 hours. This allows us enough time for cuddles, feeding, changing nappies and getting baby settled and into a nice deep sleep for photos.
3) Do we need to bring anything to the newborn session?
~ I recommend you bring snacks for yourselves and a drink (I do offer bottled water in the studio), bring baby milk if you are bottle feeding and a dummy if you use one. Also if there is any small soft toy or a little blanket you would like included in the photo please do bring these along and let me know during our initial consultation so I can take note of this.
4) How long before we get the images?
~ I usually edit your images in a three week time frame, I will let you know once they are ready and we will arrange for your viewing session. You will then come back to the studio to view and purchase your images and any wall art or products to display on your walls at home.
5) Why should we select you to be our photographer?
~ I adore working with babies and specialise in newborn photography. I have been fully trained in newborn posing and safety, I am fully insured and am also a mum to 3 kids myself. I pride myself in continually improving and attending training and mentoring every year. I am a qualified member of the Guild of photographers. Most of all my passion is creating timeless stunning images of your baby to treasure for years to come. 6) What colours should we choose for our session?
~ Once your baby arrives I will send you a questionnaire to fill in along with a colour palette to choose from. The best way to select colours for your session is to have a look around your home, look into your wardrobe and it should all give you and idea what colours you like to surround yourselves with. Having photos of your baby on your walls is a great way to ensure your little one grows up confident. They also make for amazing wall art! By looking around your home before the session you will be able to select a few colours that beautifully complement your home and will look amazing on your walls. 7) Are home visits possible?
~ Unfortunately I don't currently offer home visits. My studio in Cheam is fully equipped and comfortable with free parking outside, coffee, and biscuits for mummy and daddy and many, many props to use during the newborn session. This allows me to create stunning newborn photos of your baby no matter what mood your little bundle is in as I can swap between props as and when needed.
8) Do we need to select which package we want in advance?
~ Not at all. All you need to pay is a booking fee (£99) to secure your session and this comes off the total cost. There is a minimum spend of £349 which could be spent on a package or individual products but you only need to decide on which package you would like to purchase at your viewing session. The minimum spend is due 24 hours prior to the session or can be paid on the day of the session.
10) We would like to include baby's sibling in the photos, is that possible?
~ Of course. As a mum of three I know how amazing it is to have images of your children together and how tricky it can be to try and capture these yourself :) If you would like a sibling included in your newborn photos please do mention this during our initial consultation and I will explain to you how we can best achieve these. I recommend bringing siblings in at the start of the session and arranging for a relative or a family friend or even daddy to take siblings away after family and sibling photos have been taken as they do get bored and mummy should have the chance to sit back and enjoy watching the littlest member of the family be the star of the show. There is a park nearby with a playground or it is only a short drive to Sutton. Please note sibling photos are only an option with Simply Sweet or Pure Perfection Package as the session tends to last longer and there are more images to edit.
11) Is my baby too old for newborn photos?
~ It is not always possible to have your newborn photos in the first 2-3 weeks of baby's life. Sometimes baby needs to stay in hospital, sometimes you didn't plan to have newborn photos taken and change your mind at 3 weeks. Even after the 8 weeks we can schedule in a family session with you and your baby, we might be able to capture baby's smiles at this stage too! Or we can look into booking in a sitter session as these are an amazing way to capture your little one's personality!
