Thank you for considering me to create timeless, gorgeous images of your baby's first days. Newborn sessions are best carried out in the first 2-3 weeks of baby's life to capture their squishiness, their sleepy little yawns, the way they love to curl up, their tiny fingers and toes. Babies are little for such a short fleeting moment and as a new parent you are in a sleepless daze of feeding, changing, burping and getting to know this amazing new person. Join me in my cosy studio, sit back and relax whilst watching me work my magic and your baby being an adorable model during their very first photo session...
I take bookings from your 20 week scan and offer studio sessions (home visits are possible on request). I only book 10 babies in each month to ensure I have space and flexibility for all my newborn customers and their parents. There is however a limited number of last minute sessions so if you are not booked in with me and baby is already here please do contact me and I will try my best to fit you in if I can.
All of my sessions start with a consultation so I can help you create exactly the kind of images you will want to display big on your walls, ones that you will look back at fondly and enjoy for years to come.
Once you have had your session you will be invited back to the studio in one to two weeks to view your images which have been beautifully hand edited by me. There is a minimum spend on newborn sessions which is £299. This can be spent on a package or on individual products.
To secure a session I do require a £50 booking fee which comes off the total cost of your session. A payment for your selected package is due no later than 24 hours prior to your session. Not sure which package to get? I suggest purchasing the basic Tiny Tot package and you are welcome to upgrade to a higher package with more images included once your gallery is ready.
Pricing for sessions
* Individual Digital Images £35
* Please contact me to check if I cover your area. Home visits are subject to £20 charge to cover travel to you.
We had our beautiful little girls newborn photos taken by Magda back in January, and she was an absolute dream to work with, so warm and professional even going out of her way to help accommodate us. Our little one was so calm and relaxed in Magda’s arms, and the photos are just stunning. Can’t wait to return to celebrate her 1st birthday with another shoot!
We wanted to have a memorable experience with our son who was born this year, and having researched newborn photoshoots extensively prior to his arrival, we were really impressed with Magda's website and the style of photography that she appeared to deliver. Often we find that the actual service received from a provider doesn't reflect what is advertised on a website, however, that's absolutely not the case with Magda. From the moment you express interest in her services, through to the viewing session, the experience is incredible. Magda is communicative, friendly, exceptional at her job, and unbelievably efficient in turning the photos around. We wouldn't look anywhere else for future photoshoots - if you find yourself reading this and in a similar position to where we were, you don't need to look elsewhere. Thank you, Magda, for an unforgettable experience and set of photos.
I can not recommend Magda enough. We recently had a newborn shoot & the photos that she created are absolutely incredible... they reduced me to tears to be honest. She truly is so professional & brilliant at the work she does. The fact she has three children of her own gives her the experience & understanding of the little ones needs. Her incredible calming nature is compelling , I would call her a baby whisperer!! I would highly recommend her to all my friends & family. Thank you so much for creating amazing memories that we will treasure forever.
1) When should I book my session?
~ I take bookings from your 20 week scan onwards, once you have paid your booking fee I put your due date into my booking calendar. You let me know once baby arrives as soon as you can and we schedule in your session. Not everyone plans their session ahead so if your baby is already here and you would like to book in for some beautiful newborn images please do get in touch. I do have some last minute availability slots and if I can I will do my best to fit you in.
2) How long does the session take?
~ Newborn sessions take place mainly in my studio and take between 2-4 hours. This allows us enough time for cuddles, feeding, changing nappies and getting baby settled and into a nice deep sleep for photos.
3) Do we need to bring anything to the session?
~ I recommend you bring snacks for yourselves and a drink (I do offer bottled water in the studio), bring baby milk if you are bottle feeding and a dummy if you use one. Also if there is any small soft toy or a little blanket you would like included in the photo please do bring these along and let me know during our initial consultation so I can take note of this.
4) How long before we get the images?
~ I usually edit your images in a two week time frame, I will let you know once they are ready and we will arrange for your viewing session. You will then come back to the studio to view and purchase your images and any wall art or products to display on your walls at home.
5) Why should we select you to be our photographer?
~ I adore working with babies and specialise in newborn photography. I have been fully trained in newborn posing and safety, I am fully insured and am also a mum to 3 kids myself. I pride myself in continually improving and attending training and mentoring every year. I am a qualified member of the Guild of photographers. Most of all my passion is creating timeless stunning images of your baby to treasure for years to come. You can read more about choosing your newborn photographer on my blog here: https://www.magdabrightphotography.co.uk/post/questions-to-ask-your-newborn-photographer
6) What colours should we chose for our session?
~ Once your baby arrives I will send you a questionnaire to fill in along with a colour palette to choose from. The best way to select colours for your session is to have a look around your home, look into your wardrobe and it should all give you and idea what colours you like to surround yourselves with. Having photos of your baby on your walls is a great way to ensure your little one grows up confident. They also make for amazing wall art! ( https://www.magdabrightphotography.co.uk/post/2019/02/10/are-you-guilty-of-hiding-your-photos ). By looking around your home before the session you will be able to select a few colours that beautifully complement your home and will look amazing on your walls.
7) Are home visits possible?
~ I can offer home visits to new mums who perhaps had a C-section or would struggle to get to my studio for their session. Some parents also decide that they would prefer a session in the comfort of their home. There is a £20 charge for home visits to cover my time and petrol cost. I do require parking close by as I do bring quite a few things with me :) Please do check with me if I cover your area for home visits first. Most customers do decide to come to the studio for their session as this allows access to all my props and gives us much greater flexibility in creating your images. The studio is also much better suited to parent portraits with baby.
8) Do we need to select which package we want in advance?
~ Not at all. All you need to pay is a booking fee (£50) to secure your session and this comes off the total cost. There is a minimum spend of £249 which could be spent on a package or individual products but you only need to decide on which package you would like to purchase at your viewing session. (Due to Covid regulations and with online galleries the minimum spend is required no later than 24 hours prior to your session)
10) We would like to include baby's sibling in the photos, is that possible?
~ Of course. As a mum of three I know how amazing it is to have images of your children together and how tricky it can be to try and capture these yourself :) If you would like a sibling included in your newborn photos please do mention this during our initial consultation and I will explain to you how we can best achieve these.
11) Is my baby too old for newborn photos?
~ It is not always possible to have your newborn photos in the first 2-3 weeks of baby's life. Sometimes baby needs to stay in hospital, sometimes you didn't plan to have newborn photos taken and change your mind at 3 weeks. There are many reasons why but the good news is that I am happy to carry out a newborn session up to about 8 weeks of baby's life. https://www.magdabrightphotography.co.uk/post/2018/11/21/is-your-baby-too-old-for-newborn-photos
Even after the 8 weeks we can schedule in a family session with you and your baby, we might be able to capture baby's smiles at this stage too! Or we can look into booking in a sitter session as these are an amazing way to capture your little one's personality!
